Each class will have two categories (and will have two winners), "bakery baked" (in which category entries must be normal production items, not specials) and "home baked" which must be baked in a non-professional environment but the entrant does not need to be an amateur baker.
All entries should be substantially made from organic ingredients. Winners will also be asked to provide a recipe for their entries to be published on this website subsquently.
You can only enter each class once. Any of the bread classes other than sourdough can also co-incidentally be sourdough breads, entries to the sourdough class can be brown, wholemeal, white, non-wheat etc but you cannot enter the same recipe bread twice, once in sourdough and once in another class.
All entries must consist of two examples of your entry (other than for large cakes and tarts), one for show and one for tasting. In the case of loaves each item must weigh at least 400gm.

The Urban Green Fair, September 5th 2010, Brockwell Park, Brixton, London, UK. Tables for display of your entries will be provided, items will be displayed in home-baked and bakery-baked categories and by class. Entrants' names will not be displayed till awards are made and will be hidden during judging.
The competition area will be open for you to deliver and arrange your entry from 10:00am till 11am, judging will start at mid-day.
Entry fee per entrant (not per entry) is £2 for individual home bakers and £5 for bakeries payable on the day. In the case of bakeries if you to have a stall at The Urban Green Fair the stall fee will be reduced to £100 from the normal £120 and you will not need to pay competition entry fee as long as your stall is setup within the Food and Garden zone. If there are more than four bakeries wishing to have such a stall a further discount may be considered. To book a stall please complete the application form found here
